As the year comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the relationships that helped shape one of our most meaningful chapters to date as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary. Community, collaboration, and shared values have always been at the core of our work, and this year reminded us just how powerful strong partnerships can be.
Throughout the year, we were grateful to work alongside organizations that not only understand the music industry, but actively work to make it more inclusive, sustainable, and supportive for the people within it. We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the partners who supported our vision, trusted our ideas, and helped us turn intention into action.
Women in Music Canada is a national non-profit organization dedicated to advancing gender equity in the music industry through education, advocacy, and community-building. Their work creates pathways for women and gender-diverse professionals to thrive at every stage of their careers. Balancing Act is a Canadian organization focused on improving working conditions in the music, arts and theatre industries by addressing issues such as mental health, accessibility, and work-life balance. This year, EMB collaborated with both Women in Music Canada and Balancing Act on the Level Up! Initiative, a pilot project designed to support caregivers in the music industry—an often-overlooked group whose contributions are vital. Through this initiative, we explored new approaches to accessibility, including creating safe, welcoming spaces for members with children and onboarding supported childcare. These efforts allowed caregivers to attend performances, participate fully in events, and remain actively engaged in industry spaces without compromise. This collaboration marked an important step toward more inclusive industry practices, and we’re proud of what was achieved through this pilot.
Ontario Creates is a provincial agency that supports Ontario’s creative industries by investing in talent, fostering innovation, and amplifying cultural impact. During our 15th anniversary year, Ontario Creates provided structured support that helped strengthen our marketing, publicity and promotional efforts around this milestone. As EMB celebrated 15 years of independent work, legacy-building, and cultural contribution, their support played a key role in ensuring the moment was honoured with intention and reach.
MFM (Manitoba Film & Music) is dedicated to growing Manitoba’s film and music industries by supporting artists, producers, and creative businesses working in the province. This year, EMB worked closely with MFM to support our artists active in Manitoba, contributing to music business activity and creative development in the region. Through this partnership, we advanced work on two separate projects—an album and an EP—both scheduled for release in 2026. The opportunity to deepen our presence in Manitoba and support artists working there was a meaningful part of our year. Manitoba (particularly Winnipeg) holds a special place in EMB’s story, as it is where our label first began. Being able to return, build, and contribute to the creative ecosystem where our journey started made this collaboration especially significant.
We are deeply appreciative of the trust, collaboration, and working relationships we’ve built with each of these organizations. Their support through resources, guidance, expertise, network connections, and shared platforms made a real impact on our ability to grow, experiment, and show up for our community in countless ways.
As we move forward, we’re grateful to have partners who not only support our work, but who are also valuable resources for others across the industry seeking meaningful, values-driven support. Thank you for being part of EMB’s journey this year, we look forward to what’s ahead.
